The client inherited a house built in the 1950s that had been extensively remodeled over the years. He wanted to create a basement, enlarge the house, and create a terrace to take advantage of the view on the Bay of Algiers.
This project proposes to imagine a new façade on two levels, three meters from the existing one, thus enlarging the living room facing north and creating a ceiling that is two stories high. A terrace, as a continuation of the living room, covers the expansion of the ground floor and extends to the swimming pool, which backs against a stone wall.
Large flower pots with tall plants and succulents border the swimming pool, in order to screen the house from adjacent buildings. From the architect
